“The Hero of Time” - Rex Viper

The official music video from Rex Viper, the band founded by famed YouTuber James Rolfe, made as a tribute to the iconic Legend of Zelda protagonist set to the tune of the hit 1984 Bonnie Tyler track “I Need a Hero.”

Rolfe brought me aboard to provide animation sequences that could be used throughout the video. This, along with the month-long production schedule and my sparse knowledge of the Zelda franchise coming into this, made this quite the creative challenge.

Nevertheless, I was determined to give it my all with this project. While I did a fair bit of research, I viewed my naivety to the property as an advantage, doing what I could to bring something fresh to the table. The final result is a mixed media extravaganza of high-octane action and dazzling effects.
